Meetings and conferences

As part of the Danish Presidency, a number of meetings and conferences in Denmark within the remit of the Ministry of Culture are planned. In addition, the Minister for Culture will host an informal ministerial meeting on 3–4 November, focusing on the role of media and culture in upholding European values and strengthening democratic resilience. The Ministers will, among other things, discuss the challenges facing the media sector in light of geopolitical and technological changes.

18 September, Copenhagen

The purpose of this conference is to create a nuanced debate on the use of artificial intelligence and its impact on copyright.

Participants will gain insight into current challenges and experiences from various cultural sectors in Europe.

23-24 September, Copenhagen

This year is the 10th anniversary of the European Week of Sport. The opening of the European Week of Sport will be marked at GAME Streetmekka with speeches, physical activities, and a high-level dinner. The following day, the Presidency, in cooperation with the European Commission, will host a sports conference focusing on the benefits of living a physically active life. #BeActive

6 October, Copenhagen

The objective of this high-level meeting will be to explore the role of cultural diplomacy in external relations with a particular focus on the role of cultural resilience, including in terms of protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine.

Participants will gain insights into current challenges and best practices and explore how to support cultural resilience in partnership with Ukraine.

23 October, Copenhagen

The mission of the European Archives Group (EAG) is to ensure cooperation and coordination on matters relating to archives. The EAG advises the Commission on issues that affect archives. The Strategy of the European archives (2025-2030) establishes a link between the EU strategies and legal acts and the current challenges in the archives domain, offering a strategic orientation.

23.-24. oktober, Copenhagen

Meeting for the Directors General for Sport from the EU Member States on current topics in European sport, including the European Sport Model.

24 October, Copenhagen

European Board of National Archivists (EB NA) is a forum for the directors of the European National Archives which work in close collaboration with the EAG: The group I mainly focused on strategic leadership and challenges in the Archive Sector. The meetings are held in connection with EAC meetings but without participating fram the EU-Commission.

3 November, Copenhagen

In an age of fragmented attention and constant digital noise, how do we protect and nurture creativity? What does it mean to focus, to create, and to connect – especially for the next generation raised in a digital-first world?

This conference invites artists, cultural leaders, policymakers and thinkers to ask bold questions and envision new pathways. Rather than seeing culture as something being disrupted, we’ll explore how it can be a driver of renewal and resilience in European society.

4-5 November, Copenhagen

A meeting for the European Creative Europe Desks, including both the Culture and MEDIA Strand. The meeting is hosted by Creative Europe Desk Denmark – Culture at The Agency for Culture and Palaces and Creative Europe Desk Denmark – MEDIA at The Danish Film Institute.

4-5 November, Copenhagen

DLM Forum is a network and member event for national archives, IT vendors and similar; all sharing and contributing to long-term preservation of digital archives. At the DLM Forum, members will share methods, knowledge, standards, and tools they use in the tasks in appraisal, long-term preservation and dissemination of digital archives.

13 November, Copenhagen

EDAP brings together national representatives responsible for architectural policies. Participation is by invitation only.

14 November, Copenhagen

ECAP brings together policymakers, professionals, and stakeholders from across Europe to discuss architectural policy and the role of architecture in shaping the built environment. Participation is by invitation only
